Create responsive projects in Adobe Captivate that scales seamlessly across devices and screen sizes. Use responsive projects to build an immersive learning experience for your learners and make learning interesting and interactive.

In this document, you will learn to create and customize responsive projects in Adobe Captivate. The procedures in this document require you to use assets such as images and sample Adobe Captivate project adobe captivate 9 fluid boxes free.

You can choose to use your own assets and samples. However, it is recommended that you download and extract the following zip file to your computer: create-responsive-projects. Adobe Captivate creates a responsive project with a single slide.

Too bad that this workflow has been almost hidden by the Captivate developers. It is a lot more work, but offers all the control you need for such layout. In iPad view, I would like to keep the left part of the screen visible to the left edge of the simulation, not the left edge of the blue box for phones.

Is there some trick, to write JavaScript, or to chose the bigger resolution and resize project before publishing? No, you should have chosen a bigger resolution custom to start with. In Fluid Boxes projects you lose some control as developer. Did you really need a responsive project, since you talk about big screens? Why fuid use scalable HTML output in that case?

Thank you for posting this. It helped to clear up Fluid Boxes for me. I especially like the explanation of the bounding box in a software simulation. Very helpful in helping to learn beyond the basics of using adobe captivate 9 fluid boxes free boxes. Gonna have so much fun this summer. In my mind it is the ONLY way to have a full responsive project. Only that workflow allows you to replace more complicated fluie which lead to bigger file size by other assets if the course is viewed on smaller devices which have not only a lower browser resolution but more limited hardware and maybe bandwidth.

I strongly plead with the Captivate team to abandon never the Breakpoint views workflow, a feature which the concurrent tools do not have. Fluid Boxes take less time for development but besides what I mentioned already they do have a lot of limitations for the developer: several type of items cannot be used, stacking is forbidden in normal fluid boxes, you cannot use the main master slide, you cannot group assets, you cannot display items for the rest of the project etc….

There is another workflow, Breakpoint Views for responsive projects, which is more time consuming but the only workflow that gives you full control over the changes in layout when smaller browser resolutions are used. Not bixes projects are suited for the Fluid Boxes workflow, as you can see from many questions on the forum.

Usually, buttons and smart shapes that you turned into buttons had 3 inbuilt states — normal, down, and roll over. Now we have the fourth inbuilt state — visited. This is a great addition to existing states, because it gives you more options to create interactive slides without using advanced actions.

Another feature that we are really happy for is that now smart shape buttons can have states in master slides. Now if you create a button from a smart shape in your slide with different states, you can simply copy it to the master slide and the states will be showing.

This feature may not seem so essential, but for a developer, I can say that this put a smile on my face. Now you can do this with a single click any time you want. With Typekit integration in Adobe Captivate you can choose all kinds of different fonts that are synchronized in your Typekit account. You can find the integrated Typekit fonts at the top of your font list, right above the web safe fonts.

If you use some of the Typekit fonts in your course, you will have to set the domain of this Typekit font when you publish your course. Closed Captions had limited options before, but now you can change the position, color, and text alignment, and you can choose to have the same style in the whole project or each slide can have their own closed caption style. This way you can create modern closed captions that suits your design. Overall, Adobe Captivate has some great features that can help you create eLearning courses faster, but you might have to spend some time to get used to the new additions in this Adobe Captivate version.

Fluid Boxes have some great characteristics, but your design might suffer from the fact, that now you have to divide your content in boxes.
