This is a mental disease where a person’s mental state will be in constant misery without any change. A mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life.

This disease will eventually make the person’s life difficult where he can’t able to live a normal life. Nowadays depression is a widespread disease. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 350 million people worldwide is suffering from depression. Due to this people are not able to perform well in their professional life as well as in their personal lives.

Depression is a mental state where a person feels as he is not able to fulfill his desires, aspirations and he is trapped in a situation where he doesn’t know how to get out and usually a feeling of hopelessness happen.

Usual way to treat a depressed person from a psychologist point of view is to provide him medication tablets which make him more lethargic, and dull, but the problem remains as it is. Nowadays depression even appears in school going child because of parental and social pressure.

First Two Stages. The first two stages are:
SUPPRESSION and FRUSTRATION

SUPPRESSION is the first stage of Depression. When a person clamps his/her desires and thoughts it is suppression. 99% people are suppressed. At the initial stage you may ignore this behavior but repeating of this behavior reaches to the second level which is known as FRUSTRATION.
FRUSTRATION is the feeling of being upset or annoyed as a result of being unable to change or achieve something. 80% people are frustrated from their lives or what they do. The suppressed thoughts or desires are now converted into frustrations. Living long time in frustration affects every part of your life. Ignorance of this reaches to the last and major level i.e. DEPRESSION.

Symptoms & Thought Process:

Feeling of Loneliness& Sadness:  Even you have your whole family and loved ones around, but you feel alone mentally. Everyone else seems fine, happy around you but only I find myself in sadness that why me? why I am suffering?

 Feeling Unwanted/Unloved: I feel I am not needed in this world, Nobody needs me and then why I am here? Nobody loves me I am not beautiful my status is low.

  • Abandoned: my parents do not love me. I feel they gave me birth and left me in this big world.
  • ​ Feeling of worthless: I feel that I am not worth of anything. No one likes me. I am unlucky.
  • ​Everything seems effort: I don’t want to wake up in the morning, don’t want to go to work. I don’t want routines.
  • Lack of attention: No one pays attention.
  • ​ Quiet: I can be very quiet and become lost in my own world of thoughts.
  •  Emotional: I can easily cry. I tell my story to people to seek their attention.
  • Indifferent: I feel that have no desires. Feel that the world is not true. I am not of this world.   nobody understands me.
  •  Loss of purpose: I feel that I have no hope. I don’t need anything. If we all are dying then what’s the point of living.
  •  Thoughts of suicide: At every point of time committing suicide is the only option left.
  • ​ Weight loss or gain: Change in appetite.

 Trouble getting to sleep or feeling sleepy during the day

 Trouble concentrating or making decisions

Depressed person becomes very lonely and sad. He has his own world of thoughts where he feels totally alone, quiet, worthless, indifferent and cut off from outer physical world. He wants to die as he loses purpose of life. Depressed person forgets to be happy and feel joyful.
